
Last weekend (26 – 27 September 2020), Amitabha Malaysia organised “Kidney Healthathon – A Whole New Life” at AEON MALL Tebrau City Ground Floor. The annual event aspired to raise public awareness on kidney disease and promoting healthy lifestyle.
During the Movement Control Order (MCO), many become jobless, losing their earnings and unable to return to the old normal. Many daily wages earners and netizens who lost their source of earning, experienced great difficulties to sustain their day-to-day living. Our event partner – Nala Employment Agency assisted job-lookers for career application.
Since mid-July, Amitabha Malaysia introduced employment scheme assisting people who lost their income during this challenging time. Our gratitude to public who donated to these families who are experiencing great difficulties due to the pandemic.
On the event day, our event partners – 3 doctors from Nature Concept TCM and SP Healthcare conducted free medical consultation and urine test to visitors as part of their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). The one-stop Chinese and Western consultation on the day managed to attract public participation.
As a move to increase environmental awareness, Yellow Bin launched an environmental protection plan, appealing to Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) for collaboration. Once a month, Yellow Bin would visit the partners and collect recyclable waste and items. This would assist the busy working professionals on housekeeping, generating environmental leaders besides building a greener community.
In addition, Amitabha Malaysia specially invited Perpustakaan Sultan Ismail for a Reading Corner in the mall. The move to assemble in a library of books is to cultivate reading habit among the community especially during this lockdown period to remind everyone to constantly upgrading one’s knowledge and skills to be prepared for tomorrow.
