“Ping to Help” Charity Golf Tournament Press Conference

On Nov 15th (Fri.), Amitabha Malaysia held a press conference at Charity Dialysis Centre. Amitabha Malaysia is planning to hold a “Ping to Help” Charity Golf Tournament on 26th April 2020, 12 pm to 6 pm at Forest City Golf Resort.  The aim is to improve the medical devices, increase two units of dialysis machines, and 70 patients’ subsidy for two years. YB Andrew Chen Kah Eng giving the charity golf tournament a fully support again, attending our press conference and calling on golfers to raise medical benefits for kidney patients.

A flash flood has affected some of the families in Kulai, the victims who were affected following continuous heavy rains were still staying in temporary evacuation centres.

Amitabha Malaysia accompanied with YB Puan Teo Nie Ching’s assistants, distributing daily supplies and relief fund to 49 families on today morning. We hope that our help may reduce their suffer and tide over their difficulties.

At the same time, we would like to thank you to all donors, your donation not only helps daily needs for old folks home and orphanage, if necessary, if necessary, can also provide emergency assistance for the victims of the disaster in time!

The Maimunah’s Family

Recently A mother with six children requests for help to the Amitabha Malaysia. Her husband, who was a part-time worker at the steel scrap factory, had injured both hands in a traffic accident two weeks ago and needed one to two months to regain his ability to work. As a part-time worker, he without protected by any employment contract, the father has no income, and the family began the life that doesn’t know where their next meal is coming.
Just a week ago, as a pillar of the family economy, he thought a slight recovery from a lesser-hurt hand and wanted to start working get some income for his family. Who knows, the evil is not a single line. He died after a traffic accident while riding his motorcycle from his home to work in Kota Tinggi.
The oldest of the six children in the family is only ten years old, while the youngest is only four months old. Maimunah, who also lost her husband and economic pillar, has only a weekly source of income, with only RM320 per month. Despite the welfare department’s monthly subsidy of RM450,
the family of seven is still struggling to live.
Amitabha Malaysia is here to appeal to all sectors to lend a helping hand to this family, and we are welcome all kinds of donation, including milk powder, diapers, and daily needs.

Donate Blood Donate Love

A great thank you to our blood donors, the blood donation on 13th Oct, organized by Amitabha Malaysia at Putuo Village, Kulai had successfully raised 101 bags of blood. Besides blood donation, our co-organizers Nature Concept TCM Healthcare and Regency Specialist Hospital provided TCM
consultation and health- screening on the spot, comprehensive medical advice are given to the blood donors. Every blood donor received a pack of octonic drinks sponsored by Nature Concept TCM Healthcare.Thanks again to our blood donors, your kind donation made our blood bank sufficient and the patients to be treated in time. We hope that by calling more people to dedicate their love and support to our society, let’s build a warm community starting from you and me.

Love & Kindness bring Hope to Life

Recently, our volunteers visited an Indian family, a 61 YO father, a 54 YO mother and a 31 YO elder son; they lost their younger son in an accident seven years ago. The father used to be a taxi driver, but he’s unemployed due to diabetes and toes amputation. The wife is taking care of his daily life. Their eldest son met a severe accident last year. He was discharged in May 2019 but half of his face was paralysed. However, he managed get back to work in July 2019.

It’s sad to find out that family had been surviving on bread and water for several months. Amitabha Malaysia is providing this family daily supplies every month. This aid will be transferred to next needy when this family’s condition is improved and stabilized.

Fire Rescue – Saving Lives

On 5th September, firefighters from Taman Desa Fire Station conducted a fire drill at Amitabha Malaysia Old Folks Home, KL. Firefighters patiently taught caregivers and senior citizens how to use fire extinguishers and share them basic knowledge of fire protection. This fire drill creates awareness among the residents, everyone is equipped with the knowledge of using fire extinguishers at first place and evacuation route if any unfortunate happens.

Warm Mid-autumn Festival Celebration

14th September, a memorable Mid-Autumn Festival Celebration was held at Amitabha Malaysia Old Folks Home, Kulai. Xin En Association and Fo Yin Valley prepared a sumptuous dinner for elderlies and had a wonderful Karaoke session together. Accompanied by energetic volunteers, senior citizens’ had an enjoyable night under the moonlight. Thanks to energetic volunteers and kind donors that succeeded this momentous Mid-Autumn Festival Celebration.

Service with Your Heart

Amitabha Malaysia team members attended Ms Lisa Chang’s “ Service with Your Heart” training on 21st Aug.

All are benefited from role-playing and case study. Everyone gets to know each other better through personality test, thus the team is united and aim to create a better society together!

Caring & Loving The Elderlies

On 18th Aug, volunteers from Fo Guang Shan had visited our old folks home at Putuo Village, Kulai. They treated our elderly plenty of delicious pastries, of course, they chatted and brought lots of laughter in the house. Thank you FGS volunteers’ kind visit, we’re looking forward to their next visit!
